13th April 2014 Mt. Biking: Felixstowe to Levington Wind Direction: nw Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: 13 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Should have gone windsurfing yesterday but cloudy and cold and with the wind offshore decided against it as I haven't sorted out my marine radio yet after my latest adventure last week so when we woke to bright sunshine and lighter winds it was time to get the bikes out :) We packed a picnic and headed towards Felixstowe Docks taking the off road route to Trimley Marshes. We had a quick look in the winter flood bird hide but nothing much about :( There were lots of yachts out on the River Orwell and the breeze had filled in and it looked good for a bit of longboard windsurfing !!! We continued round to Levington Marina along the bumpy river path and had our picnic at the picnic area before continuing our journey passing loads of beautiful yellow rape fields :) We took the back way home along Ferry Road coming out at the golf club and then home. We were out well over 3 hours and had a great time :) Photo Gallery here |
